What’s In Your Spray Bottle?

Hello, Hello Coily Clan!

I hope all is well, as you all prepare for the holiday and New Year.

Now, as natural Queens and Kings, I am sure you all have (or at least heard of) the wonders of having a spray bottle.

I don’t know what I would do without my beloved bottle of magic!

My spray bottle comes in handy by assisting me in detangling my hair, soothing an irritated scalp from braids, adding some moisture to dry hair, and reactivating products already in my hair. Simply wonderful!

So what’s all in my spray bottle?

Water, Peppermint oil, and Aloe Vera Gel.

Aloe Vera Gel soothes and hydrates scalp itchiness and cracked cuticles. This stuff keeps me from digging my fingers into my scalp like a mad woman. I personally own the Amara Organics brand but I am sure any brand is good. The 8 fl oz bottle that I have cost $18 on the Amara Organics site but only $16 on Amazon.com. Very pricey in my opinion but I only use a teaspoon of it for my spray bottle solution so it lasts.

Peppermint Oil helps fight dandruff and flakes, which I love. I also love the tingling feeling it leaves and the sweet scent. This oil is very concentrated, therefore you only need 2-3 drops in your bottle. I know someone who got burned for not diluting this properly, please use caution. I personally own the Now Solutions brand of this oil. I got mines off of Amazon.com for $15 for a 4 fl oz bottle. I only use 2-3 drops for my spray bottle so this stuff really last me a year.

Water is my hairs best friend, literally. It makes combing my hair a breeze, moisturizing, and helps my curls pop. I fill the rest of the bottle up with water.

This is what works best for my hair. You can switch up the products to tailor your bottle to your hair needs.

If you do not have a spray bottle, I highly recommend one!

If you already have one then my question to you is: Whats in your spray bottle?

I love this! I have never heard of the peppermint addition before. Usually just olive oil and leave in conditioner in my bottle. I will definitely be trying the peppermint!

I use my spray bottle on wash day… I mix apple cider vinegar, water, and a little bit of Co-wash or shampoo….This I feel works better for me than just regular shampoo. It helps both rid my product build up while… nourishing my scalp and aiding my dandruff issues. I’ve always suffered from a dry and itch scalp and this has helped me a lot.
