How Has Pregnancy Affected My Hair?

Hello there Coily Clan,

I am nearing the end of my pregnancy (Yaay) and I wanted to share the changes in my hair that I have noticed throughout this amazing journey.

1. My hair isn’t as dry.

Before pregnancy, my hair was always very dry no matter how much I moisturized it. My hair soaked up product so fast, it was crazy. Now I noticed that my strands stay hydrated longer, even in these brutally hot summer months. It looks so shiny and well moisturized all the time.

2. My hair doesn’t shed as much.

Prior to pregnancy I would experience quite a bit of shedding during wash day. I would have hair all in the drain, comb, brush, just everywhere lol. Now, surprisingly, my shedding is minimal.

3. It’s growing at its normal rate.

I have always heard that pregnancy or taking prenatal vitamins cause your hair to grow like a weed. Well that theory didn’t stand true for me. I honestly haven’t seen any abnormal growth. I feel that my hair is growing at the same rate it was pre-pregnancy.

4. No more dandruff.

My pre-pregnancy hair suffered greatly from dandruff flakes. Sometimes becoming a little embarrassing. Since being pregnant I noticed that I haven’t had to battle the flakes anymore. Hopefully this stays even after baby arrives.

These are the main changes I noticed in my hair since being pregnant. Hopefully these changes stick and carry on even after baby arrives.

I will update with any changes I notice postpartum as well.

Until next time Coily’s
